Great white filmed circling 300 metres off Kalbarri

Great white filmed circling fishing boats off Kalbarri

The shark has reportedly been spotted circling crayfish boats from the town 600km north of Perth.
Wayne Dewar, from Kalbarri Volunteer Marine Rescue managed to record footage of the great white last Friday about 300m off shore.

Nine News played the footage to WA shark expert Hugh Edwards who confirmed it was almost certainly a great white.

"It's doing all the things that great whites do, completely without fear alongside the boat," he said.

Some Kalbarri community members are calling for the great white to be killed over safety fears for people out on boats and surfers in the popular holiday spot.

But Mr Dewar said his group was not calling for the shark to be killed.
