The sharks ranged in size from 1m to 3m, with several large sharks among the school.
The sharks were spotted from the air about 6.30am today, after beachgoers had reported a large dolphin in distress in shallow water.
Several people went to alert authorities about the dolphin but when they returned the mammal had disappeared.
According to Surf Life Saving WA the sharks were seen from the Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter just 20m off Trigg Beach.
Community Safety manager with Surf Lifesaving WA, Chris Peck, said he believed the sharks had probably taken the dolphin and would move on after they had devoured it.
Mr Peck said the sharks were between Trigg and Scarborough Beach at an area known locally as Contacio.
He said there were several 3m sharks in the school.
